MAGNAPOP

Magnapop is considered one of the most influential bands from the alternative music South. They hail from Atlanta, but are just as much a legacy of the Athens’ music scene. Their 1992 debut, self-titled record (partially produced by Michael Stipe) is still considered a pop-punk tour de force. With musical ties to a wide swath of alterna-dignitaries including Stipe and Bob Mould, Magnapop and their stellar pop-core sound, have a long and interesting history of record releases and touring. Although their membership has rotated and shifted over the years, guitarist, Ruthie Morris and singer, Linda Hopper have been the core of the band’s writing and performance.

Their long awaited 4th album, Mouthfeel came out in 2005 on Daemon Records.
